Clinical Evaluation:

The CAT+ Doppler and AutoCAT+ have been evaluated in a published peer-reviewed study assessing non-invasive systolic blood pressure measurement in cats.

The study compared Doppler and oscillometric methods across 131 paired readings in conscious and anaesthetised cats and found no significant difference in mean systolic blood pressure values between the two approaches.

The authors concluded that the AutoCAT+ met some of the guidelines for assessing such instruments for veterinary use in cats with a normal range of blood pressure. Further work is recommended to evaluate performance across a wider blood pressure range.
